This year’s collection was very nearly titled “Christmas (cough cough) Songs (cough cough cough) 2024” — the kids have been battling colds and coughs all month, but we got these recorded after all — not a cough to be heard!

“Silent Night” is one of our all-time favorites, and this time we’ve got the two youngest on vocals, with Dad joined by a new guitarist!

All the kids had fun singing “Must Be Santa” — it reminded me of some of the songs we did when the kids were all younger.

Our vocalist from last year’s hit is back with “Last Christmas” and the girls did a great job with backup vocals on this one too.

The last song with the kids is a brand new one called “Gloria” that we found in a church email a few weeks ago — we knew when we heard it we wanted to add it to this year’s list.

In the middle of the kids’ songs is an instrumental of a classic carol, and the collection is bookended by a song that I had never heard until last year — but when I did I immediately put it on the list for this year. I couldn’t decide whether to do it with vocals or just with guitars, so I recorded both.
